La smussatura e sbavatura di ingranaggi di grandi dimensioni oppure di piccole dimensioni ma in serie limitate, si effettua con una mola abrasiva come indicato nella foto.
La rotazione del pezzo fa seguire la mola lungo tutto il profilo da smussare. Questo sistema si applica anche su pezzi già trattati termicamente e può essere usato anche su ingranaggi conici o su pezzi di vario profilo.
Invece della mola si può usare una fresetta conica in metallo duro.

The chamfering and deburring operation of the big gears, or medium-small size but in small batches, can be made with a grinding wheel, like shown in the picture.
The grinding wheel follows the profile of the teeth only thanks the rotation of the gears.
This system can be used also for the workpieces ready hardened, for the bevel gears and pieces with various profiles.
Instead of the grinding wheel it's possible to use a small milling cutter.
